Anna Byrne DC, Catholic representative on the ECI committee, took part in the Dublin Climate March on Saturday 15 November.

The event was covered in the media as follows:

Irish Times

RTE

The Journal

Geraldine Murphy, from Johnstown/Killiney Parish who received the ECI Endeavour Certificate earlier in the year, joined with SAGE who received the ECI Gold Award. Geraldine provided the following report:

FAITHS FOR CLIMATE ACTION – Garden of Remembrance on 15th Nov. 2025

Kathleen Feehan and I took the bus into the Garden of Remembrance and marched behind the SAGE banner with friends from the neighbouring parish of Shankill.

Kathleen, in her 70’s like myself, had never marched in public before. She was impressed with the number of young people, some with young children, and other singles. The march was well organised, respectful and peaceful. The groups we saw included the Laudato Si Movement, The Green Party, People before Profit, Friends of the Earth, Trocaire and other Overseas Aid agencies.

An Irish Times journalist asked what brought me there? I said that I had been listening to my son Paul who is an Earth/Soil scientist for the last 20 years, so I am very aware of the seriousness of climate change and biodiversity loss and the suffering it is causing, particularly across Africa and islands in Asia. Also, I have 5 children and 10 grandchildren and I care about the world they will face.

Ahead of the march, Maureen Rowan, Methodist representative on the ECI wrote an article for the Methodist Notes in the Irish Times which you can read here.
