Latest News from Westport Eco Congregation

Westport Eco Congregation once again ran their green Christmas campaign. A display at the rear of St Mary’s Church invited the community to consider gifting in a different way. Giving the gift of Presence rather than presents, shopping locally, hand made gifts, supporting charity shops were some of the ideas suggested.  They held a re-gifting weekend on 10th and 11th January. They asked people to donate unwanted gifts to charity shops, or bring them to church, where they would distribute. This is their third year running this event and they are happy to report that the amount of items for regifting has fallen – they hope that their message is getting across! They distributed the regifting items to care homes, charity shops and resource centres.
