ECI Climate Justice Candle Visits St Joseph’s Parish, Bonnybrook for Earth Day 2025

Joan, Chair of Parish Pastoral Council, presents the ECI Climate Justice Candle to the congregation before placing it in the sacred space

Margot Delaney sent us this report:

This was a special weekend for our parish as we continue to celebrate Resurrection Time rejoicing together in joy of the Risen Lord and in celebrating Earth Day 2025.

Eco Congregation Gold Award:  We continue to work together as a parish community that genuinely seeks to care for God’s bountiful gift of creation.

ECI Climate Justice Candle: We welcome THE ECOCONGREGATION CLIMATE JUSTICE CANDLE to our celebration today. We extend a welcome to Fran Brady, a member of the Board of ECI, who brought this ECOCONGREGATION CLIMATE JUSTICE CANDLE to us from Methodist Community, Rathgar.

This Candle calls us to do all we can to care for our precious earth. Every action we take to sustain and nourish this gift is an outreach to the poorest people who suffer such devastation because of climate change.

Care for the Earth Action Cards: As you leave today, we invite you to take an ACTION CARD. This simple card challenges us to commit to small, practical actions under three heading: SAVE ENERGY, SAVE WATER, RECYCLE RESPONSIBLY. Putting these into practice in our daily living is one way to grow in awareness of and in solidarity with those suffer most because of climate change.
