This is our parish story about how we are endeavouring to grow our own flowers for our Church of the Holy Rosary in Castlebar.
This initiative commenced in Spring 2025.
All the flower displays since last March in the Church of the Holy Rosary were sown, nurtured and ultimately filled our Church with beautiful natural colour.
This initiative will continue this year and it is wonderful to see the bulbs sprouting beautifully at the moment!
We have also linked up Lough Lannagh Village (a holiday village/home to Ukrainian families here in town). The residents are keen gardeners and we were privileged to listen to their stories and share tips and suggestions with them and they with us.
We photographed the various growth stages and displayed all these photos in the Church for the Season of Creation. Many parishioners have offered bulbs and assistance for this year.
