Holy Faith Sisters’ Biodiversity Garden in Glasnevin

Maureen Ferguson sent ECI this update: The Holy Faith Sisters’ biodiversity garden is situated in the same grounds as their Marian House Nursing home and St Mary’s Secondary School, as well as the local community.  As a result, they get some volunteer labour on tap! Among other gardening chores the students plant sunflowers from seed each year while the sisters get down to more basic grubbing.  The most recent additions to the garden are the pathways with raised beds and very solid seats fashioned from recycled plastic (which will, no doubt, outlive us all).  The object is to make the garden more accessible to wheelchair users and other less able people, as well as other visitors.
