Vita Continues to Provide Clean Water and Sanitation to East African Communities

The spread of COVID-10 worldwide has highlighted more than ever the need to ensure universal access to clean water and sanitation. Currently, one in three people around the world do not have access to safe drinking water while three billion lack basic handwashing facilities. Vita, an Irish NGO based in East Africa, has been working to deliver these vital services to rural communities in Ethiopia and Eritrea for over twenty years. As the global pandemic continues, Vita’s mission to provide life-transforming water pumps and sanitation training to Africa’s most vulnerable communities has never been more urgent. Thankfully, Vita’s dedicated team are able to continue helping families like Tigist Awash’s – a 12 year old girl whose family often contacted diseases from drinking dirty river water.
