Dundrum Methodist Church celebrates Season of Creation

Helen Shiel sent ECI ths update:

Dundrum Methodist Church has been celebrating the Season of Creation each week with prayers, reflections and, of course, the lighting of the Eco Justice Candle. Four year old Matthew O’Donoghue was happy to oblige (with the help of his mother Rachel) at the last physically attended service for the foreseeable future. The following week the service took place on Zoom with the candle to the fore.

The weekly Vision programme on Dublin South Community Radio, (hosted by churches in south Dublin), has aired two programmes on the environment during this season. Rev Andrew Orr was interviewed by Rev Martin O’Connor (Church of Ireland presenter) on Sept 20th and Dr Kirstie McAdoo , head of Research and Education in the Airfield Estate (an urban farm in south Dublin ) shared her thoughts and reflections about sustainability and our role in caring for God’s creation in a conversation with the Methodist presenter, Helen Shiel, the following week. Both Kirstie and Helen are members of the eco team in Dundrum Methodist Church.
