Help promote Fairtrade!

Fairtrade 2Fairtrade Ireland this year celebrates its 20th anniversary and is asking supporters to hold Fairtrade breakfasts during Fairtrade Fortnight, which this year runs from 29th February to 13th March.

The idea is to wake others up to the challenges facing farmers and workers producing much of what we eat and drink. We have come a long way but we still need to do more!

Organising a Big Fairtrade Breakfast using only Fairtrade-certified products is one way to link your home, church and local community with Fairtrade farmers and workers around the world.

Why not organise a Fairtrade breakfast before Mass/church service using Fairtrade tea, coffee, hot chocolate, sugar and bananas? Everyone will be sure to enjoy it! And it will be a great way for people to get to know each other too!

Ballinaspeaig Parish in Cork was the first church in Ireland to become a Fairtrade Parish. To find out what steps they took to achieve this, click here.

Fairtrade Ireland is also looking for Fairtrade Ambassadors to help celebrate their 20th anniversary. Becoming a Fairtrade Ambassador is a simple way to promote global economic justice, ultimately leading to greater impact for farmers and workers in developing countries. You can find out more here.
