Latest News from the Orlagh-in-the-City Laudato Si’ Group

Lorcan McDermott sent ECI this update:

Our virtual Sunday worship is continuing by Zoom. In early July we
held a garden Mass in St. Benildus Retreat Centre Kilmacud, our usual
location for Mass. It went very well, there was no difficulty with
social distancing, lots of fresh air, if a little damp!

Some of the Laudato Si’ group have been attending the Fridays for
Future gatherings at the Dail. Numbers may be small but we are helping
keep the climate action issue live and making connections between
climate change and Covid 19. On occasion we have been joined by Green Party TDs, senators and ministers.

Our book club’s reading of Elizabeth Johnson’s Ask the Beasts, is
very informative on biodiversity. Now that restrictions have been
eased, we can explore more of the biodiversity of Dublin city and
county.
