Clogher Justice Peace & Integrity of Creation Group celebrates Season of Creation

Fr Joseph McVeigh sent ECI this update:

On 15 August the Clogher JPIC group held a socially distanced picnic at Drommoney Falls near Kesh, Co. Fermanagh. Because of Covid 19 our activities have had to be curtailed. We have not been able to meet since last March.

We are pleased that our Bishop led the way in publishing his Pastoral Letter for the Season of Creation. It was sent out to all the priests of the Diocese and received good media attention. The Irish News devoted a whole page to it. Bishop Larry’s letter got recognition and publicity from the Vatican News (Spanish language) service. One of our members, Liam Murtagh, writes a weekly column Sustainability Matters in the Northern Standard, Monaghan.

Fermanagh and Omagh achieves Fairtrade District status – this initiative was taken by representatives from different churches in the area who form the steering group.
