Orlagh-in-the-City Members Explore their Local Area

Lorcan McDermott sent ECI this latest news: Covid 5km restrictions have given the opportunity to explore local areas as never before. While Laudato Si’ group walks in nature have been postponed, individuals have been out observing the autumn landscape. The photograph on the right was taken on the Dublin Wicklow ‘borderline’. At the same time, the Laudato Si’ book club has been meeting fortnightly on zoom and has just finished reading and discussing Elizabeth Johnson’s Ask the Beasts: Darwin and the God of Love. Ask the Beasts is an opportunity to open up the dialogue between science and religion on the topic of evolution and natural selection. In formulating an innovative theology of creation, Johnson challenges traditional assumptions and helps the reader engage with Darwin’s analysis of evolutionary processes in a very positive way.
